How to put your Shopify store online?

Are you looking to get started in e-commerce and launch your Shopify store ? Have you figured out how to create your Shopify store ? You've already prepared everything and it's finally time to go live? How do you make your Shopify store accessible to any internet user?

Well, if you've followed our tips for creating your Shopify e-commerce site , everything should go smoothly! There aren't many steps to getting your e-commerce site up and running. Shopify allows you to get your store online very quickly.

How to activate your Shopify site?

First and foremost, it's important to do some due diligence BEFORE launching your store. You don't want to activate your Shopify site only to find that a major error is blocking all your sales.

How to put your Shopify store online?

What are the key points to check before going online?

Are your apps configured?

You've probably added apps to your Shopify store . But have you checked that they're all configured and installed correctly?

Are your payment methods active?

It's difficult to sell online without a payment method. Installing Stripe, Mollie, Payzen, or Paypal is good, but checking that everything is OK and that transactions are going well is essential. If you use installment payment , consider taking it out of test mode as well.

Also consider disabling test payment platforms (Bogus Gateway) before going live. Otherwise, you risk selling products without receiving a single cent. Admit it, that would be a shame.

Do you have products and stock?

Are your products properly created in your Shopify back office? Are they active? Do they have stock? Are they properly linked to your collections? Do they have photos and product descriptions?

Do you have any modes of transportation?

There's nothing worse than blocking potential customers in the checkout process due to a delivery issue. So, consider setting up your carriers and associated fees. You may not want to ship products halfway around the world for free.

Check your theme

Before going live, check your theme one last time. You may have modified or customized the CSS code of your Shopify site . So now's the time to do a final check!

You have configured a domain name

It's essential to purchase a domain name (from Shopify or elsewhere) and configure it on your store. Without a real domain name, your site won't look very serious. Given the very limited investment (around ten euros per year), it's essential.

Place the first order yourself

If this is your first e-commerce site, then I strongly advise you to place an order yourself on your merchant site to check that everything is ok. Create a €1 product for this occasion so as not to pay bank fees for nothing.

Are you ready? Then go online!

Now comes the big moment. To activate your Shopify store, simply disable the password that protects your store.

This is done in “Online Store” / “Preferences” by disabling the password here

Disable Shopify Password

Once the password is disabled, Google and Internet users will have unlimited access to your store. Now's the time to activate your web marketing campaigns and do some SEO , and your e-commerce adventure will truly begin!

Looking forward to the first sale!
