How to add a tag to an order on Shopify? (4 simple steps)

If you have a lot of orders on your Shopify site, you may find it difficult to properly manage and find them. In order to help you solve this problem, Shopify gives you the possibility of adding "labels", "tags", "tags", to the orders of your store to classify them, organize them, find them, which gives you will allow you to better manage your shop and save time.

Step 1: Go to Orders 

You must open your browser and your Shopify back office to find your list of orders. Your back office is available at: maboutique.myshopify.com/admin. 

On the left, you have a vertical menu marked "commands", or "orders" if you are still in English. Click it

Step 2: Enter tags

Choose an order from the list of orders by clicking on the order number. Next, in the order details page, find the Tags section and enter the tag names, with each tag separated by a comma. The label limit is 40 characters, including numbers and letters.

Step 3: Add a label to your order 

If you already have tags, you can choose previous tags by clicking View All Tags and choosing the tags you want to add. When you are finished adding labels, click Apply Changes to add them to the order.

Step 4: No need to save!

In the last step, before all you had to do was click on the save button. And be careful, if you left the page without saving, you had lost everything you just did and would not find the tags! But now, Shopify has upgraded its system and there is no longer any need to save! Everything is done automatically


Conclusion

We can see that it is quite simple to add a tag to an order by hand. But if you have a lot of orders, it will take you a long time. It is therefore possible to use automatic tagging applications to go faster. But that will be the subject of a future article!
