From small e-merchant to large retailer
After convincing more than 1.7 million merchants (1), Shopify is accelerating its development and launching its new offer for the biggest retail brands. The latter have significant growth challenges, and must constantly attract new customers, while retaining existing ones.
The Commerce components offer gives companies the possibility to delegate many critical tasks (payment, logistics, data analysis, product catalog, etc.) so that they can focus solely on the development of their activity.
Commerce components: An ultra-flexible solution, designed for the unique needs of retail giants
Shopify's latest offering - Shopify Plus - launched in 2014 already allowed businesses to leverage their customer data from a centralized backoffice and sell across all channels and markets from a single platform: D2C sales, retail, B2B sales or sales on social networks. More than 14,000 brands (2) were then convinced to migrate from the standard offer to the Shopify Plus offer.
With Commerce components , Shopify takes personalization even further. Among the most requested components, we find in particular:
- unlimited APIs: companies can connect an unlimited number of APIs to accelerate their business
- the Shopify Pay tool to significantly improve conversion: +40,000 manageable transactions per store and per minute, an improved conversion of 72% and access to a base of +100M e-commerce buyers
- the deployment of front offices in a record time of 100ms thanks to the 275 points of presence distributed all over the world
The offer is intended to be as modular as possible so that brands can select only the tools they want. With this offer, Shopify is targeting a specific category of businesses, those generating at least 500M in annual revenue. Very different therefore, from the category of merchants that the online platform addressed until now.
Shopify: to infinity and beyond?
The question deserves to be asked, because the rise of Shopify never ends! In the United States, the CMS is used by 10% of e-commerce sales. Proof of the platform's adoption, merchants using it have generated over $319 billion in revenue.
Of the 9.2 million e-commerce sites in the United States, Shopify is used on 29% of them (3). Among the best known brands, we can mention: Pepsi, Tesla, Red Bull. This figure should therefore increase further in the coming months with the launch of this new offer.
Mattel first to use Shopify Commerce Components
The online platform can count on well-known brands to the general public to act as ambassadors. This is the case of the American group Mattel, the second largest manufacturer of games and toys in the world, which uses the Commerce components offer .
With its new Commerce Components offer, Shopify strikes a blow in the e-commerce sector and proves once again that it remains an innovative company, listening to its merchants to offer them the best tools to develop their business by online, offline and wherever their end customers are. In 2023, it consolidates its position as the No. 1 e-commerce platform.
