Oxatis SEO, is there a problem?

If you have an online store running on the Oxatis e-commerce solution, you may be about to lose all of your SEO. Yes, just that.

Oxatis Logo We have been alerted by several e-merchants who have Oxatis stores that numerous SEO issues have appeared in recent months.

Some e-retailers even received an email explaining to them that the indexing and referencing problems had been identified on the side of the Marseille CMS platform but unfortunately without any concrete proposal, we wanted to take stock of the root of the problem and the solutions to be provided.

What are the Oxatis SEO concerns?

So there are two main avenues concerning SEO issues on the Oxatis and New Oxatis platforms (if the technical explanation doesn't interest you and you just want to boost your site's SEO, I advise you to go directly to the following paragraph)

  • The indexing trail
  • The ranking track

Indexing problem on Oxatis

Since this summer, new products are apparently no longer indexed on Oxatis. This means that when Google visits your Oxatis site, it may only look at the pages it already knows.

But this is a big problem because for you, it means that your new products will never be known to Google and therefore never registered in its database.

When you know that this is the first step in order to move up in the search results, it's still a shame.

To use an analogy, it's as if your new product pages were completely invisible to Google. You can still advertise on Google Ads and Facebook Ads, but there's no chance of doing any SEO with these pages.

Ranking problem on Oxatis

There is another problem in parallel, but it seems to affect fewer stores: a drop in the SEO positions of many sites.

Concretely, for the Oxatis stores concerned, this means that the same keyword brings less and less traffic. Let's imagine that you were first for a long time on a main keyword, now you are second, then 3rd etc ... Enough to reduce your SEO traffic and therefore your sales.

This second step is longer and more "gentle" but leads to the same point: endangering the survival of your online store in the medium term.

Oxatis, how to solve SEO difficulties?

Fortunately, there are several ways to solve these problems, depending on your budget and the severity of the problem in your home. Here are the options we've listed for you:

Carry out an SEO audit of your site

If you have any doubts, the best thing to do is to carry out a complete SEO audit of your e-commerce site. The price of an SEO audit can vary between free and €5,000.

Why free? Many SEO agencies offer them to help you win back customers. We don't necessarily recommend doing this because the review may be biased. However, there are many SEO agencies that can perform an audit for between €2,500 and €5,000 all-inclusive and will give you an objective opinion on your SEO and to find out if your Oxatis store also has this problem.

Get pages indexed using a special SEO tool

There are now tools to get pages indexed. The results are sometimes even guaranteed. It costs around €2/page in most cases, so it's not free, but it solves the problem.

If the page is not indexed after a certain period of time, these tools will refund you. Examples include indexmenow, the URL inspection tool, Foudroyer, etc. Many link building tools also provide this service.

Wait for a change from Oxatis

It's always possible to wait for a technical change at Oxatis to resolve this issue. But since the acquisition of CMA CGM and then after Lundi Matin Group, the changes at Oxatis have perhaps become less clear. It's a risk worth taking, so if you prefer to stay with Oxatis.

Migrate to another e-commerce solution

This is the ultimate solution if nothing else in the ideas presented above has worked for you. Switching from Oxatis to Shopify, for example, can allow you to find a site that performs well in terms of SEO, is optimized for modern e-commerce, and, above all, is scalable.

Be careful not to do it too late because a migration always takes a little time and the loss of SEO must not be irreversible.

In short, SEO problems at Oxatis are not inevitable, but action is necessary to get back on track and boost sales. If you need help, you can contact our technical and sales team to help you find the right solution for you.
